WHAT’S YOUR PROJECT...?
Dams
Hydro-Québec and other owners of dams frequently call upon the expertise of Queformat when building new structures or repairing existing ones. Recently, Queformat has participated in a number of projects, including:
- Building the EM1 power station and LE24 dike, traversed by a lake and lying on compactible soil;
- Conducting behaviour studies of the OA11 dam and tributary weirs;
- Re-building the Pont-Arnaud dam, destroyed in the Saguenay flood of July 1996, in design-build mode;
- Building the EM1-4 power station, diverting the Rupert River and designing the PK-85 and PK-110 weirs for the river;
- Repairing the Farnham dam and securing the left bank of the same river;
- Conducting geotechnical studies in preparation for new developments in Nunavik, on the Caniapiscau and Nastapoka rivers;
- Carrying out rehabilitation studies for the Machu Picchu power station in Peru;
- Conducting design and construction studies for dikes for a mining project in Mali.
